With Scandinavia being world-leading in CleanTech and sustainability, SACC-SD has had a mission for over a decade to spread the passion and knowledge to Southern California and support American and Nordic CleanTech businesses. The Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Diego and the Norweigan-American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles decided to collaborate and establish a three-day conference that inspires and educates about CleanTech and sustainability, and promotes networking and exchange of sustainable solutions between Nordic and American companies that share our passion for a healthy planet.
Green Connections was held for the first time in 2012. Since then we have had 9 excellent Green Connections conferences filled with impressive speakers, sponsors and attendees. We were extremely proud to host our 9th annual Green Connections in 2020 between November 10 and 12. Each day covered one topic each day: Renewable Energy, Smart Cities/Buildings and Energy Storage.

Lane is a social, serial entrepreneur based in Southern California. With his warm, positive spirit and outstanding knowledge in CleanTech and clean energy, Lane has managed to grow an enormous network in Southern California and become a well known name on the subject of clean energy. The Chamber is extremely proud to have Lane, an expert as well as our friend, as an official speaker on November 11, on the theme renewable energy.
Lane's accomplishments include an open source patent for hydroelectricity from atmospheric water generation at elevation; launching the first independent water credit exchange in California, Borrego Water Exchange; leading the Community Choice Aggregation energy movement in San Diego. Jonas is a businessman and business executive with extensive experience of leadership in technology based growth companies, especially in renewable energy. He has been involved throughout the chain from founding a company based on university research to IPO, and to sell a profitable company to investors. He also has extensive experience from international sales of complex technical systems.

Kristina is responsible for the Business and innovation area Smart Cities and Communities which involves planning and coordinating RISE future activities in the field. She has 20 years of experience working as project leader, platform leader, coordinator of research activities, networks, initiation, planning and realization of research and development projects. The work has been focused in the following areas: moisture management, indoor environment investigations, energy efficient and sustainable renovation, and smart sustainable cities, consulting and handling quality assurance system, developing and teaching courses for developers, consultants and contractors. She coordinates a national research environment involving about 30 researchers and as many companies and organizations.
She is also adjunct professor in Building physics and active in research and supervising PhD students. Kristina was former president of ENBRI (European National Building Research Institutes) board. She is a RISE representative in E2BA and supplementary member in EeB PPP Partnership board, member of advisory committee for the Norweigian initiatives KLIMA2050 and NZEN, on the Board of National Renovation Centre, Board of Swedish Moisture Centre, as well as Information Centre for sustainable buildings. RAMYA SWAMINATHAN
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, MALTA INC
Ramya Swaminathan led the spin-out of Malta from X, Alphabet's Moonshot Factory (formerly Google X). She joined Malta from Rye Development, where she was CEO, co-founder, and Member of the Board of FFP New Hydro. Under her leadership, Rye Development grew to be the leading developer of new hydropower projects in the United States and its portfolio of development projects, held at its holdco affiliate, FFP New Hydro, advanced from concept through FERC licensing and late stage development financing. She was also responsible for the expansion of Rye’s platform into energy storage, with the addition of two sizable pumped hydro storage development projects in the Pacific Northwest. At Rye Development, Ms. Swaminathan led a multi-disciplinary team, with specialists in engineering and construction, regulatory and environmental aspects, and power marketing. She also led the company through several financing rounds, both at the platform and the project levels.
Prior to her work in the hydropower space, Ms. Swaminathan was a public finance banker, most recently as a Director at UBS, where she focused on public power clients and senior managed more than $10 billion in financings. Ms. Swaminathan holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and a BA in Anthropology from Amherst College.

Peter Hollevik is a new figure in California's sustainable business environment. As a part of Leif A. Stavøstrand's Evoy-team and a student of Data Science in Sustaibable Development and Engineering at Berkeley, he seeks climate change mitigation in the intersections of data science and startups. As a result, he's a mentee at Undergraduate Laboratory @ Berkeley, and in the process of completing The SCET Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Technology. In his spare time, Peter loves spending time in the mountains and on the ocean - preferably on electrical- or sailing-vessels.

Jonas Tannerstrand is the Head of Electricity and Automation for Öbo. He has been awarded the Inspirer of the Year/The Örebro Region Energy Award, and is very well known and praised for his work at Tamarinden - Sweden’s smartest district. Tamarinden is as close as it gets to a completely self-sufficient area located in Örebro, and has no equivalent in the world. What makes this project so unique is the way it is supplied with energy - the houses share energy between each other. Tamarinden represents the future of Swedish communities, and is an inspiration for the rest of the world.

AMBASSADOR OF SWEDEN TO THE UNITED STATES
Her Excellency Karin Olofsdotter took up her post as Ambassador of Sweden to the United States on September 1, 2017. Ambassador Olofsdotter has long been a strong advocate for Swedish trade and diplomatic relations with the United States.
Trade and economic growth remain top priorities for the Ambassador, along with defense cooperation, public diplomacy, and strong collaboration with the international community.
H.E. Olofsdotter brings extensive experience in trade promotion to her current post. Prior to assuming the role as Ambassador, she served as Director-General for Trade at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Olofsdotter has also held the position of Deputy Director-General and Head of the Department for Promotion of Sweden, Trade and CSR. Ambassador Olofsdotter is also an accomplished diplomat. Her career in the Foreign Service started in 1994 with her first posting to the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow. In the years following, she worked in security policy and defense issues as well as in numerous leadership posts within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, including serving as Chief of Staff for several of its Ministers.
H.E. Olofsdotter has served as part of the Swedish delegation to NATO as well as at the Swedish EU Representation in Brussels, working with European security policy and defense issues.

Madeleine is a member of the Energy Division’s executive management team responsible for the business development of CleanTechnologies. Apart from being divisional responsible for investment and acquisitions, Madeleine leads the divisional transformation to the future energy market including Energy storage, Hydrogen, Power-to-X and Carbon Capture and Storage.
Madeleine has been with Alfa Laval since 2014 working with strategy and business development in corporate functions, digital transformation as well as with marine service. Before joining Alfa Laval, Madeleine has worked as business development manager for innovative recycling at the waste management company Stena Metal. Madeleine holds M.Sc. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management as well as Biotechnology from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.

Christian Strietzel was born in Dresden, Germany moving to Sweden in 2009. He received a Master degree in Chemical Engineering specializing in Materials Science from Uppsala university and studied business and innovation management at the University of Colorado, Boulder. During his studies he received a scholarship by the prestigious German Academic Scholarship Foundation. After working with different projects within the truck industry, Christian has done
research on organic proton batteries at the department of Nanotechnology and Functional Materials at Uppsala university. His special focus is the design and development of new organic materials suitable for proton batteries. As result of the research he and others in the team have invented a group of new materials that enable proton cycling and facile processing of the electrode materials, which is crucial for large scale production.
Recently Christian has been working on improving the materials and general battery chemistry to enable an aqueous proton battery ready for commercialization. Since initial results are promising, Christian leads the effort to prove the unique benefits of this technology in applications such as IoT and wearables both from a performance and environmental perspective.

Hans-Christian started off his career being a technical consultant for a leading European technical consultancy firm, Grontmij, heading the wind power division in the Asset Management team.
He then became the Co-founder of the Swedish wind farm developer Svenska Vindbolaget, established 2008 and sold 2011 to Eolus Vind, the leading wind developer in Sweden and the Nordics, with over 1200 MW developed and constructed wind since 1990.
After leavin the role as deputy CEO, COO and Transaction Director, he lead the Swedish company Eolus' entry in the U.S. market. Hans-Christian is the Country Manager for Eolus, which is one of the market leading wind power developers. Eolus is highly experienced in the development, financing, operation and asset management of renewable energy facilities and offers local as well as international investors attractive and competitive investment into renewable energy projects. Eolus was listed on the public stock exchange at Nasdaq OMX Stockholm in February 2015.
Hans-Christian also founded the company IOWN Renewables in 2014, where he serves as the Founder and CEO. IOWN focuses on the development, financing, and operation of renewable energy projects in North America, usually by acquiring controlling stakes in already initiated projects or companies.
Hans-Christian is also board member in two other U.S. based power companies active throughout U.S., LATAM, EU and Asia.

Hans-Christian also founded the company IOWN Renewables in 2014, where he serves as the Founder and CEO. IOWN focuses on the development, financing, and operation of renewable energy projects in North America, usually by acquiring controlling stakes in already initiated projects or companies.
Hans-Christian is also board member in two other U.S. based power companies active throughout U.S., LATAM, EU and Asia.

JENNY LARFELDT
ADJUNCT PROFESSOR, AND SENIOr EXPERT GAS TURBINES, SIEMENS ENERGY AB
Jenny Larfeldt graduated as a mechanical engineer from KTH Stockholm in 1991. She defended her thesis concerning solid fuels combustion and achieved her PhD title at the department of Energy conversion at Chalmers University in 2000. She joined Siemens Energy in Finspång Sweden in 2004 as a manager for the R&D combustion team. After 2012 she changed into an expert carrier and is now responsible for green fuel strategy on the industrial gas turbine frames. Since June 2020 Jenny is also adjunct professor at Chalmers university.
