Hans Janzon

Picture
Hans Janzon is a 64-year old from Gothenburg, Sweden and now the new President of SACC San Diego. Hans has great work experience from Swedish engineering, Cleantech and biotech companies and spent 12 years as CEO for Grolls, the Nordic regions largest specialist retailer for work wear and personal protection equipment.

Now Mr. Janzon lives in San Diego with his American wife Rebecca, and two daughters 17 and 18 years old, which both are studying in San Diego. He also have a 31-year-old son living in Gothenburg, Sweden.

As the President of SACC San Diego Mr. Janzon wants to focus on cleantech companies and with his engineering background he can bring a broader understanding of these concepts. He also wants to build strong connections to Sweden through his good connections with Västsvenska Handelskammaren in Gothenburg, Sweden's largest chamber of commerce. Furthermore Mr. Janzon wants to be a mentor and support for the management associates of SACC San Diego.

Anders Brunmark

Anders Brunmark grew up in Eslöv and later Kristianstad, Sweden. After his military training Anders studied chemistry at Lund University and he also wrote a thesis in the area of free radicals in Linköping. 1994 Mr. Brunmark started working at Johnson & Johnson and has stayed there since. During his years at the company he has worked with drug research within the fields of protein chemistry, immunology and cancer discovery, ”enabling technologies” of different kinds, external relations, and much more.

Mr. Brunmark will contribute with his great knowledge within pharmacy and biotech and his connection to biotech companies in San Diego. Having worked in various functions in pharmaceutical research, he has also received exposure for everything from identification of targets for Phase 2 trials. Mr. Brunmark hopes to give good advice and help to establish contacts in these areas.

Hans Bergman

Picture
Hans Bergman grew up in a slow paced, fairy tale village called Borstahusen, located in the southern part of Sweden. During his school years at the University of San Diego, where he studied on a golf scholarship, he was a member of SACC – San Diego. Today, 22 years later he is honored to join as a member of the board. In between his first and recent SACC assignments, he had the opportunity to gain many experiences around the world. In 1994, he started a toy company in San Diego, which he three years later sold.
In ’96, after eight years in the US, Sweden “pulled” and he returned to Malmoe. His first job at home turf was with GUL watches, a successful company which was voted, “Company of the Year - 1998” (Veckans Affärer). After two years of valuable know how with GUL, he started a job as export sales person for BRIO. After being promoted to Export Manager and then sent to Japan to establish BRIO Japan KK, a huge opportunity opened up. Investment firm Proventus had in 2004 acquired BRIO, and I was called home from Tokyo to lead the BRIO sales division at +$100M.

However, two years of brutally hard work was enough for him and in 2007 he decided to move on after eight years with lovely BRIO. Shortly thereafter, he was offered a position as VP of Sales with DORO, a Lund based fast growing telephone company. Nevertheless, his Canadian wife then said that she had enough with our crazy lifestyle and tight schedule, so before he started to work for DORO, they decided to take “pick och pack” and move back to her hometown – Montreal. Upon landing in Montreal in June of 2007, he was contacted by the Swiss cycling apparel company, ASSOS of Switzerland (www.assos.com), to establish a North American subsidiary. Seven years of hard work in Montreal followed by another two years in San Diego where he now work. He’s proud to assert that in this summers’ Rio de Janeiro Olympics, team USA will be wearing ASSOS cycling clothing from top to toe.

He hope that his experiences and thorough network of people around the globe will further contribute to the recent success that SACC – San Diego has realized. He gets a kick out of supporting talents with inquires about anything from personal management and opportunities, to strictly business questions. On a recent outing with some SACC management associates, he encouraged these up and coming young stars to have courage in life. After all, it is because of this trait that his journey has taken me back to San Diego again.
