This month our talented Management Associates from fall 2015 has left San Diego to go back to the winter wonderland in Sweden and the new Management Associates of spring 2016 have arrived. Now it’s time for them to take over the responsibility of the chamber and hopefully do an as awesome job as their former colleges have done. We asked them what it was that made them apply for an internship at SACC San Diego. ”I decided to apply for the Finance & Operations position because I wanted acquire a greater understanding of financial reporting and operational management as well as gain invaluable international experience. The business related skills and knowledge you obtain while working at SACC-San Diego will definitely be of significant value to a professional career within the financial sector. Additionally, I cannot deny that the sunshine and long beaches in San Diego was a contributing factor.”
/ Jesper Hofstedt, Finance & Operations ”In the fall of 2014, I visited Hong Kong and had the opportunity to visit the Swedish Chamber of Commerce there. That meeting had a big impact on my choice of future career focus. When I studied in Singapore last fall I got influenced by the US hype among the students at NUS, and felt that an internship in the US would be exciting and developing. So when I read about the Business Developer & Cleantech intern position at SACC San Diego, I instantly felt that I had to apply. Being able to work at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the US, and at the same time work with tasks that combine my interest in sustainable development and business, felt like something truly unique. Now I am here, and I could not be happier – I am convinced this spring will be something truly memorable.” / Lovisa Palmér, Business Development and Cleantech_ “Being a part of SACC SD was my ticket to drop the books and finally get to experience and work in a new and exciting environment. The American business culture has always been fascinating to me, and even from the first day at work I knew that I had come to the right place! Looking forward on the coming 6 months I’m expecting a time filled with new acquaintances, insights and adventures.” / Kevin Dai, Event Management “To get practical experience is vital within my field of work. I wanted to find an internship that combines my interest for communication with my international ambition. To be able to do so in the United States will give me a lot knowledge I wouldn’t get in Sweden. Also I love the California area, so I believe I’ve found the ultimate internship.” / Sigrid Falck, Web & Communication If you want to know more about our new Management Associates please click here.
