DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
This position is responsible for plan and execute the Chambers different events. The events include, but are not restricted to Business Mixers, Networking Events and Social Events, within the interest of current and prospective members, but initiating new and creative events in order to satisfy our members’ needs, will also play an important role. The Event intern work closely with the Marketing & PR intern in order to marketing the events. This role also offers an opportunity to work closely and collaborate with our corporate members for different events and tasks. Furthermore, every year in November SACC San Diego arranges a Cleantech conference called Green Connections in order to connect corporations, investors and entrepreneurs with one another. The Event intern will therefore have a focus on the Cleantech industry and will start planning this event during the spring and have the overall responsibility for this event, which includes event-planning, finding sponsors and speakers and to promote the event.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Currently enrolled in a university program or graduated, within a relevant field of study
- Can work for six months straight
- Fluent in oral and written Swedish and English
- Ability to work independently as well as in groups
- Outgoing personality and strong communications skills
- Swedish or Finnish citizenship required
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Related practical work experience and/or extracurricular activities
- Sales experience, marketing experience and/or event planning experience
- Previous international experience from studying and/or working abroad
- Understanding for environmental issues and innovations
- Project management and leadership experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage/influence others
COMPENSATION
There is no monetary compensation for the intern, as SACC-San Diego is a non-profit organization. However, as an intern abroad you are entitled to apply for scholarships. Some Swedish students, depending on their university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN.
